Amy and Ciara shine at Santry IMC

Following last night’s IMC meet at Santry, Dublin all today’s athletics headlines have been dominated by City of Lisburn’s Amy Foster and Ciara Mageean.
Amy Foster is in sensational form these days, lowering her 100m PB to 11.49s here to share Anna Boyle’s Northern Ireland senior record. This winning performance here gives her a 2nd NI senior sprint record after claiming the 200m record outright a few weeks ago. Congratulatons to Amy and coach Davy Reid.
Meanwhile Ciara Mageean’s 800m win in 2:03.21 was no less impressive. Asked to confirm her fitness ahead of the forthcoming Euro Junior champs in Estonia, she left nobody in any doubt over her form with a PB here which saw her win by over two seconds. Good luck to Ciara and coach Eamonn Christie as Ciara fine-tunes her preparation for Tallinn.
Brendan Murphy ran well to dip below 50 seconds in the mens’ 400m. His time of 49.73s placed him 7th.
