7th August 2014
The penultimate of the Super V competitions took place in good conditions and CoLAC were once again well represented on both the track and the podium.
In the youngest age group our U11 girls got us off to a fantastic start with Etain taking gold and EllaA bronze in the 80m sprint followed by team mates KatieM and Adrianna who were both involved again in the Shot where Ella took a gold of her own. In the 1000m LaurenP ran 3.55.62 for 4th with Ella and Katie also tackling the distance event.
CallumK took 4th in the boys sprint ahead of Freddie, Michael and JackM before also taking gold in the shot ahead of Michael and Jack. In the 1000m Jack showed his prowess as the top CoLAC finisher ahead of Callum and Michael.
We were well represented in the U13 girls where HollyM, Erin, Catherine, Rebekah, Ellen and Niamh all ran well in the 100m with HollyM the top finisher in 5th. ErinF took the only medal in this age group with her silver in the Long Jump ahead of HollyM, HollieG, Rebekah, Ellen and Niamh.
There were fewer U13 boys involved but what they lacked in numbers they made up for in class with all 3 ending the evening with medals. BenG took silver in the 100m ahead of JackT and AdamB who both took medals of their own in the Long jump.
JoshA was our only U15 boy but he did the job of a whole team taking bronze in the sprint and gold in the long jump.
Emilia took the U15 girls sprint bronze ahead of Eve and Kayla before also competing with those team mates in the long jump where Eve was our best performer. Ellie joined them in the long jump before tackling the 1500m for possibly the first time.
In the U17 girls KateF and CaraB both ran the 100m with Kate taking the bronze. Cara then collected a bronze of her own in the Shot Putt.
BenF and Ciaran took gold and bronze respectively in the U17 boys sprint ahead of RyanK who then took gold in the Triple Jump. TomB won the 1500m ahead of JoshuaM .
In the Senior events Karl pipped Gareth for the silver in the 100m, Gareth having to settle for bronze ahead of Adam and Jonny. The younger Hill then got ahead of the elder in the Shot Putt with Jonny taking silver to Adam’s bronze.
Another great night for CoLAC.
