Firmus Super six meet 1
Sun 19 April 2015--admin
The outdoor season got off to a great start last night with the first of the Firmus Energy meets at MPT.
There were medals and PBs aplenty across a wide range of events and ages.
Our under 11 contingent had several athletes making their first competitive appearance in CoLAC colours including our only girl in this age group, Eden who took part in the Shot Putt.
We had 4 boys taking part and AdamK continued his great indoor form with a perfect start to the outdoor events lifting Gold medals in both 80m (11.38sPB) and LJ (3.69mPB). Adam’s 80m time was almost ¾ of a second ahead of his nearest rival. DavidL, Harry and JackM all produced PBs also in both events.
The U13s continued the trend with Peter and Callum both setting PBs in 100m and LJ. EllaA lifted the LJ gold with her 4.07m PB an amazing jump for a girl still at primary school. HollieG just missed out on a medal with her 3.60m PB placing her 4th. EllenS also jumped well while new comers Victoria and Connie tackled all 3 events available to them with gusto and produced PB in all of them. They were joined in the 100m by Ella and Ellen with both girls also running PBs and Ella placing 4th. Another newcomer, HannahC ran well in the 1500m to place 4th on her competitive debut.
Our U15 boys took 2 medals. RyanN placed 3rd in the 100m ahead of RobbieA and JackT while AdamB took bronze in the HJ. AnnaM (12.88sPB) and Amie (13.35sPB) took silver and bronze respectively in the U15 girls 100m ahead of Emilia, HollyM and Sarah. Anna then upgraded to gold in the HJ with her 1.50m clearance ahead of Erin’s 1.37m PB for the silver medal.
We had 5 representatives in the U17 boys 100m with ScottM taking the bronze with his 11.92s PB just ahead of ConorG who ran 12.09sPB for 4th. Simon, TomM and JoshA all ran well with Josh setting a new PB of 12.65s before moving to the LJ where he leaped to another PB of 5.30m for second place. Eve ran in the girls 100m and SarahH in the 300m while Maddie set herself a new PB in the 1500m, taking almost 9s off her previous figures.
We also had a large cohort of men in the senior 100m with BenF the best placed although he was just pipped at the post to leave him in 2nd place. The new PB of 11.01s was more than consolation. Christian was looking good after injury problems and placed 3rd ahead of Gareth, AdamH and Jake. Ben took 1st in the LJ with Adam 3rd. RebeccaH ran well in the senior 1500m to round off a great evening for CoLAC.
Well done to all.
