City of Lisburn athletes produced a number of medal-winning performances at the Irish Schools at Tullamore on Sat 05 June.
There was another outstanding performance from the peerless Ciara Mageean who won the Senior Girls 1500m by half a lap in a new record 4 min 19sec. Laura McBurney was a very respectable 4th and 5th in the Senior girls’ sprints.
Congratulations to Libby Rose who achieved a fine bronze with 12.31s in the Inter Girls 80m Hurdles.
There was also a hurdles bronze in the Junior Girls 75mH for Anna McIlmoyle in 12.14s, just ahead of Jane Atkinson who should be proud of her 5th place in 12.31s. Anna just missed out on another medal after clearing 1.50m for 4th in the High Jump. Katie Conn was a fine 5th in the 1500m and Erin Quinn ran well for 6th in the 100m.
In the Inter Boys shot, James Megarity was 7th. Junior Boys Ulster Schools 200m champion Josh Garnham ran well for 5th in the longer sprint.
Finally, in an Irish Milers Club open mixed 800m Kelly McNeice was in fine form, breaking 2min 04 secs, her best time in 2 years.
