City of Lisburn’s Libby Rose was competing in the colours of Irish Schools yesterday at the Kelvin Hall, Glasgow in the re-arranged combined events schools international fixture. She enjoyed a successful outing with her pentathlon total of 2912 points placing her 8th overall and helping Ireland to 2nd place in the 4-way fixture. Each country fielded four athletes meaning Libby finished in the top half of the competitive field – a very good showing at this level.
She gained good points in the 60m hurdles with a flying 9.59s PB. Her high jump also saw a lifetime best of 1.47m which was followed by an indoor long jump best of 4.97m. She completed her day’s work with a 8.34m shot and a solid 2:41 800m.
