Lisburn performances at Moira
Sun 16 January 2011--admin
There were a number of good performances from City of Lisburn athletes at our own cross-country event at Moira on Saturday where conditions were wet and muddy. Leading the way in the Primary Schools boys race was Matthew Neill who had a great run for 2nd place with Sean Terek 4th and Ben Ritchie close behind in 6th. The Primary School girls age-group saw two Lisburn athletes in the top three, with Olivia Savage 2nd and Olivia Neill 3rd.
Enda Kelly was just outside the prizes in 7th in the Year 9 and 10 boys race with Natalie Fair taking home a medal for 5th place in the girls event in the same age-group.
Heather McLarnon in 8th place was first Lisburn athlete home in the Senior Womens 3 mile event ahead of Orla Smyth in 19th and Fiona Cooke in 21st. Fiona was also 3rd F45. In the mens 4 mile race Michael Dobbs was 3rd M35 and 27th overall. Ian Steele was 38th overall (and 8th M45) with Desmond McLarnon in 54th (and 5th M50).
Thanks to all those volunteers who gave up their time on the day to make sure the event went smoothly.
