Fourteen Athletes from City of Lisburn AC travelled down to Tullamore to represent Ulster in the Inter Pro Under 17?s.
This was the highest representation from any athletic club in Ulster and turned out to be a rewarding experience for all the athletes.
Two Gold medals were won by Josh Williamson, first 400m in a personal best time of 50.5 seconds and the second as part of the Ulster?s 4x400m relay team. Golden girl Samantha Miskelly maintaining her winning streak with a fine performance in the 80mH won it in 12.3 seconds. Mark Atkinson and Fiyin Olayisiade each won gold in the Ulster 4x100m team relay helping to produce a time of 43.9 seconds. Debbie Porteous held off the opposition in the Triple Jump to win Silver with a leap of 12.28 metres, club mate, Sophie Brow finished in seventh in the same event.
Linzi Herron had the disappointment of finishing just outside the medals with two fourth positions, first, a 1.60 metre High Jump and then a 4.95 metre Long Jump. Rachel Gibson who got boxed in at the start of the 800m, fought her way back, but was detached from the front runners also had to make do with a forth position.
Stuart Brown made the most of this opportunity, with a quality field in the 1500m, in ideal racing conditions took a large chunk of time (7 seconds) of his previous best time to finish seventh in 4mins 14secs. Emily Mills also finished seventh in 5mins 06secs in the 1500m and has still three more years in this event demonstrated what still has to come, well done Emily.
In the Throws Rebecca Hedley finished seventh in the Discus while Robbie Loan finished ninth in the Hammer.
