Ciara and coach gain AAI awards

It is the time of year for awards dinners and Ciara Mageean has been recognised again after her superb season. This time it was at the Woodies DIY/ Tipperary Crystal National Athletics Awards hosted by Athletics Ireland at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Dublin on Saturday night. City of Lisburn’s Ciara won the Junior / Emerging Athlete of the Year award after her wonderful achievements in 2010 including a silver medal at the World Junior Championships in Canada and a place in the Commonwealth 1500m final.

Her coach Eamonn Christie was also among the winners, being named as coach of the year for his achievement in guiding Ciara’s athletics career to such heights.
