Heather 5th at Armagh 10 mile

Sure what else would you do on 10/10/10 but run a 10 miler? While the club had a few athletes racing at Stormont in the Runher event the same day, a couple more City of Lisburn athletes made the trip to Armagh for the annual 10 mile race. Conditions were excellent and the pretty Co. Armagh countryside almost helped ease the pain of the many long hills as Heather Martin finished with a 71:02 chip time. Although slightly slower than her run in the same race last year it still left her an excellent 5th place in the Female Open category from the large field of over 400 starters.
Much further back Jonny McWhinney was happy to complete his debut over the distance on the challenging course in 81:58, running an even paced race with his second half 6 seconds faster than the first.
