City of Lisburn AC Under 17 athletes also featured well in the N. Ireland Power of Ten ranking lists for 2011.
Girls
Sprints/ hurdles – At 100m Aoibhin McManus is at no. 8 with a 13.3 s from the YAL Magherafelt match. Aoibhin also features at no. 5 in the 300m rankings where she had a couple of useful outings including a 44.10 in the NIYAL final.
Over the 80 hurdles Ulster Schools champion Anna McIlmoyle was at no. 2 with a 12.81s run at Tullamore in July.
Middle distance – Lisburn were fortunate to have two good middle distance athletes in this age group. Courtney Sloan was at no. 4 with her brilliant run of 2:24 in Birmingham while Rebecca Harvey was at no. 8 with a 2:29 indoors from the Odyssey arena in February. At 1500m Rebecca was at. No 5 with an early season 5:03.21, just ahead of Courtney in 6th with her 5:03.46 from Birmingham again.
Jumps – At high jump Anna McIlmoyle was ranked no. 2 in N. Ireland at U17 with her SB of 1.60m from the age-group championships in June. At long jump Aoibhin was no. 1 in a splendid season which saw her extend her PB to 5.36m. Also in the top ten was Anna at no. 9 who jumped 4.60m at Antrim in May.

Multi-events – Aoibhin McManus was ranked no. 1 in N. Ireland at heptathlon with her score of 2991 from the combined events championships in August.
Boys
Sprints / hurdles – Lisburn had some very good sprinters in this age group. At 100m Josh Garnham was ranked no. 3 with a flying but undoubtedly windy 11.3s from Magherafelt. Stuart McEwan was at no. 10 with a best of 11.82s while Chris Gibson was at no. 13 with 12.0s. Over 200m, Josh was at no. 5 with a 23.3s from Magherafelt again. Stuart was at no. 9 with 23.83s and Aaron Dalzell no. 10 with 23.86s from Birmingham.
While there were good numbers of athletes mentioned here it must be noted that the club was without the same strength in depth that it had at U15 and U13 level this season. However that will hopefully change as many of the strong U15 athletes move up an age-group next year.
