3 Lisburn athletes for London Mini Marathon
Wed 23 March 2011--admin
The London Mini Marathon has become a well-established side attraction to the main event. For athletes aged between 11 and 17 it is a chance to compete against the best young talent in road running from right across the UK. The races for the various age-groups will be on part of the famous marathon route, finishing in the Mall, with distances of up to 3 miles.
8 regional teams will be represented, with City of Lisburn’s Rebecca Harvey, Zoe Carruthers and Madison Bowyer all being selected for the Northern Ireland team. This will be a great experience for the girls in a race where Team GB stars Mo Farah and Steph Twell are amongst previous winners and where our own Ciara Mageean has also enjoyed past success.
Good luck to the girls for 17 April and fingers crossed we might see some of them on TV!
